If you are suffering from the recession just like everybody else, chances are you are looking to cut back without actually sacrificing much and without gaining weight. Because quite frankly, they have done studies that have shown in recessions, the obesity rates rise. You don’t want to be part of that problem, and quite frankly just having food stamps doesn’t really help.
This being said, there are a few basic ways and easy ways to save money and lose weight at the same time. They don’t involve diet pills, because we all know diet pills cost money, and you also don’t have to go out and spend even the $20 per month on a gym membership. Instead, you just use some common sense.
- Eat more fruits and vegetables-yes you have to go shopping more often, but no it does not cost you more money. In fact, it costs you less. Every time you go to McDonalds, you are spending more per meal than you should ever be spending, and you are creating future healthcare bills which would not be there had you not eaten junk food like this in the first place.
- Exercise, walk your dog-it seems simple, but it’s effective. You don’t need a gym membership, you can walk with your friends, with your dog. If you already have a dog, obviously that doesn’t cost anything, and you also exercise your dog. If you don’t have one, exercise with your friends, being social is a good thing after all.
- Walk, take the stairs-if you are in a recession, one of the big things you still spend money on is gas. So if you walk instead of driving to the store around the block or to the next door neighbor’s house for that matter, it helps. Chances are you don’t live in a neighborhood where driving from garage to garage is a safety related necessity.
